New in Town and Alone for the Holidays
I've seen some of the heat that Californians and Texans take in this subreddit. I hope that cold shoulder doesn't apply to folks coming from the Appalachians.
I [33M] move to town in 3 weeks. I'll be spending Xmas and my Birthday alone in a new city. I work remotely. The only people I'd get to know in the local area by Xmas are folks in the few Meetup groups I signed up for and maybe a handful of my neighbors.
Are there any places open during the holidays that a middle aged guy with no kids could have a little holiday cheer, either alone or with 2 or 3 friends, that isn't just a bar? It doesn't have to be on Xmas day, it just needs to be holiday themed.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Edit: I want to say thank you to all the Bendites (I prefer Benders lol) that have offered both info about the local area and friendship. It's nice to see how friendly the area I'm moving to is. I'd like to remind everyone that this post is about Christmas based stuff. All I know about at this point is Santaland in the Old Mill and The Moonlight Market. Are there other events out there? Do any towns do Xmas lights competitions?
