Finish the game, What's next ?

Hi everyone I have just finished my second playthrough and men I forgot how perfect this game is for the origin of the assassins. The place, historical events and personal history. So I think I will buy the dlc but before that I still have some region to explore (desert ones between 37 40 level) and some small side quests but having found that the side quests were the weak point of the game is it a good idea to finish the main map or should I get started directly in the dlc
