What picture style do you consider contemporary/forward looking?

I was contemplating this question - in a photography class, our prof had an opinion that majority of artists and photographers who were the most innovative, usually used the most recent available tech to them.

Applying a nostalgic instagram filter, for example, was for him not a way how to make it in photography. (Nothing against that if it has a subjective emotional value!)

Considering how global the trends are and basically having all the previous styles available at a click, which artistic style would you label as the most authentic/representative of current and near future’s time?

Apart of the processed images I am especially curious about the less processed photographic philosophy. (Or is processing an inherent part of it nowadays?)

Feel free to use descriptions, name artists or link images, name camera brands with settings etc…
