Older Men of Reddit, Were You Able to Switch Careers at 30? How?

I have a degree, but I have never actually gotten the chance to do work in my area of study I even applied to lower paying jobs outside of the industry but they don't want to hire me because I'm a manager now and they think I'll challenge them on stuff or won't be willing to, "do the work".

Bro, I'm only in this field because of student loans. Is there a way out? Did anyone else do it? How did you
