Pushing legend rank

What have been people's methods and loadouts for pushing to legend rank? What map and modes? I'm sitting at ace v-iv currently. Some matches I'll get multiple kills, then I'll go on a massive lose streak and go back to ace v. Ive tried cheap kits with expensive ammo, crazy expensive kits and it doesnt matter. When I have the expensive kits I get one tapped in the head by m61 or some other nonsense with ap .338. I really want to hit it before the season is over. What has everyone done?
