SM throwing out food in fridge

About a month ago, just before I started a shift, when I walked into the break room to clock in I noticed my SM cleaning out the fridge, but he wasn’t just throwing out rotten/expired food, it was anything that didn’t have a employee sale receipt on it. So literally a whole trash bag filled with perfectly fine food/drinks and he gave no warning in the group chat that he would be doing this. Had I been scheduled earlier, I could’ve told him not to throw out my Gatorade I forgot there from the day before, but he started before I clocked in. He didn’t even bother to empty out the liquid before he threw it out so when I was doing the cleaning list, a pool of liquid leaked from the trash bag. A complete mess.

A couple days ago, he did the same thing again. I had an employee sale receipt on one item I bought but there was no tape in the breakroom, so I laid it on top. He threw it out anyway. Again no warning. Only this time did he show a pic in the group chat that showed what he threw out.

Is this a normal thing in Aldi stores? I understand wanting to follow the rules but I don’t think throwing out food that people paid for with their hard earned money is the solution for this at all. It gets me thinking what would happen if I brought lunch from home or from a different store, would he throw that out too?

EDIT: I’m okay with many of these comments telling me it’s to be expected but some of y’all seem incredibly triggered over me simply asking a question for clarification. Please understand that there’s a human being behind the screen just like yourself. You don’t know me, and all I did for ask for advice. No need for snarky comments insinuating I’m childish and talking to me like I’m an idiot. Thank you.
