Alvanse (Vyvanse) 20mg day 1 and I don’t like it. Also worried I don’t have ADHD because it isn’t working on me… anyone else?

I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early-30s and did nothing about it, kind of denied it to myself mentally, didn’t tell anyone.

Years later (I’m now in my 40s) I’ve decided to do something about it and ended up getting diagnosed again and am on titration for medication.

I was so hopeful it would change my life!! But I took my first 20mg of elvanse yesterday and hated it.

Taking it felt like drinking coffee, which I don’t do, because it makes me feel odd.

The effects were: felt energetic and motivated for about an hour, but not motivated to sit in front my computer and do work. Instead, motivated to go out and do stuff. Then I felt nervy, foggy, nauseous and mildly headachey for the rest of the day.

I slept fine though!

I’ve read that ADHD meds don’t work if you don’t really have it and now I’m feeling like a fake again.

And I’m so disappointed that I hate the meds!!

Did anyone else have this experience?
